Seville Solar Project

Imperial Valley, California – Project Size: 60 MW

RAI Energy has successfully developed two sizable solar projects in Imperial County: Seville I – a 20MW solar array in partnership with San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and Seville II – a 30MW solar with the Imperial Irrigation District (IID). The energy generated from Seville I and associated renewable energy credits (RECs) were sold to SCG&E in December of 2021 through a 20-year agreement. IID purchased power and related RECs under a 25-year agreement in May of 2013. Thanks to RAI Energy, the projects delivered myriad community benefits, including technical training, mentoring and scholarships for local students.

Greg Wolf, president, Commercial Portfolio, Duke Energy remarked, “We are pleased to be adding quality projects that will bring economic development to Imperial County and contribute to California’s leadership in renewable energy growth.”
